TRENTON, N.J. - Despite two pitchers combining on a three-hitter, the Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (19-19, 11-3 NEC) could not generate enough offense of its own in a 3-0 setback to Wagner (10-26, 7-7 NEC) on Saturday at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.
How it happened
- The Seahawks scored all of their runs in the first inning, capitalizing on three hits and an error to take game two of the weekend series.
- Tommy Verga recorded the first hit for the Knights in the top of the second, followed by a single hit by Tom Ruscitti.
- The Knights held Wagner scoreless in the next possible innings for them to step up to the plate.
- Brelon Harden recorded a double to left field in the top of the seventh.
Inside the box
- Senior Rich Racobaldo (2-3) took the loss with two earned runs and three strikeouts in the first five innings pitched.
- Verga went 1-2 with a walk.
- Harden finished 1-3 with a double.
- Ruscitti went 1-4.
