HACKENSACK, Nj- FDU women's volleyball (5-10) took home a victory in their first match at Stratis Arena this season defeating Manhattan (0-10) 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-22.)
Set 1
- Manhattan took the first four points but FDU closed the gap to 9-9 after a line-drive kill from Sophia Spiridonakos on the right and gained a lead with two four-point runs to win the set 25-18.
Set 2
- The score was 4-4 before Wittholz subbed in to get two instant aces.
- The Knights hit .478 whereas the Jaspers hit -.167 which was the defining stat of the second set (25-14).
Set 3
- The third set was close throughout with the knights unable to pull away until late in the set.
- Giorgia Vaschetti put the finishing touches on the match with a kill down the middle to end the set 25-22.
"It feels good to be back at the Rothman Center," said David Nguyen. "Our team took care of business tonight. We are looking forward to our first conference match this weekend."
