Head FDU Softball Coach Chris Foye announced October 1, 2024 the hiring of Assistant Coach Alison Meagher.
Meagher comes to the Knights from Rutgers' softball program, where most recently served as an assistant coach since 2022, primarily working with the Scarlet Knights' pitchers. During her tenure at Rutgers, she helped lead the Scarlet Knights to one of their best stretches in program history, featuring a 2024 season which saw 14 conference victories, as well as the program's first series wins over Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Meagher also helped the Scarlet Knights reach their highest Big Ten tournament seeding in program history, heading into the tournament as the three seed.
The year prior in 2023, Meagher helped Rutgers record their first 30 win season since 1994. That season also saw the team record their first upset over a Top 25 opponent since 2012. Meagher also oversaw 15 All-Academic Big Ten players during her time in New Brunswick.
Prior to being on staff at Rutgers, Meagher served as an assistant softball coach at New York University. She oversaw 18 UAA All-Academic Players during her tenure with NYU.
Before her coaching career, Meagher played college softball for both Rider University and the College of Staten Island. During her freshman year at Rider, she lead the Broncs with 153 innings pitched.
During her time at CSI, Meagher was named a team captain and CSI Pitcher of the Year in 2019. She was also named to the All-CUNY Conference team in both 2018 and 2019.
Meager also operates as an administrator and head coach for Untamed Softball. Meagher oversees 9 travel softball teams, and operates as the head coach for Untamed's 18U College Showcase Team.
