As part of the Northeast Conference's efforts to promote an environment of respect and integrity at our events, we once again request each institution's assistance in administering the league's Sportsmanship Program.  We anticipate that each administrator will emphasize the importance of promoting positive sporting behavior with coaches, student-athletes, staff, spirit groups, boosters and fans. Likewise, institutional efforts to create a positive atmosphere in your venues through PA announcements, radio/webcast announcements, signage, promotional ads in game programs and diligent game management will make this effort a success.
With Sportsmanship an intrinsic component of the Strategic Plan, the NEC is proud to once again participate in the NCAA's Respect Campaign. Along with the co-branded components (ads, logos, posters, banners, PSAs) distributed the last two years, additional materials may be issued to the membership as they become available.
Please see the attached memo for a description of the program and explanation of implementation. Also attached are Sportsmanship Policy and Signature Forms for coaches, student-athletes and spirit groups, as well as a letter to boosters and the Sportsmanship Award form.Â
