TEANECK, N.J.- The Fairleigh Dickinson baseball team (20-23, 12-6 NEC) dropped the final game of a tough series, 10-2, to Central Connecticut (21-12, 12-6 NEC) on Sunday afternoon.
How it happened
- The Blue Devils opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the second.
- FDU took the lead in the bottom of the second after a two-run home run by Matthew Puello, driving in TJ Werner.
- Central Connecticut came back with a run to tie the game at 2-2 in the third.
- After two scoreless innings, the Blue Devils regained the lead with another run scored on a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth.
- CCSU blasted a grand slam in the seventh and extended its lead to 10-2 in the eight, scoring a run off a ground out to first and a two-RBI double to center field.
Inside the box
- Joey Kosowsky (5-2) took the loss for allowing six runs and striking out six.
- Puello 2-3 with two RBIs, one run, and a home run.
- The Knights registered five safe hits.
