SOMERSET, N.J. -- Fairleigh Dickinson University saw four of its athletic programs compile the best grade point averages in their respected sports in the Northeast Conference, the league announced Thursday.
Head Coach
Gary Puccio's baseball squad achieved the highest GPA on the diamond at 3.289. The men's tennis team, who not only was the top team on the court in competition, was also the best team in the classroom, as Head Coach
Jonathan Buchman's conference champion and NCAA Tournament team finished the year with a 3.508 GPA.
Also finishing above a 3.5 was Head Coach
Rob Warren's men's golf team, who finished with a 3.584 GPA, and Head Coach
Sharlene Milwood-Lee's women's cross country team, who was excellent with a GPA of 3.602.
All four programs are the official winners of the NEC Team GPA Award for their sports. Out of 12 schools in the NEC, FDU concluded a successful 2012-13 with the third-highest grade point average (3.266).
