CANTON, Mich. – The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's bowling team continued its streak of National Tenpins Coaches' Association All-Americans, as Danielle McEwan (Stony Point, NY/Stony Point) and Liat Vizenfeld (Holon, Israel/Campus Kiryat Sharet) were both honored by the organization on Wednesday, April 10 at the annual pre-tournament awards dinner, hosted by the NCAA.
McEwan was named the NTCA Division I Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and also earned a position on the NTCA First Team for the third year in a row. Vizenfeld picked up her first NTCA honor with a second-team accolade.
McEwan is the just the second two-time winner of the Player of the Year award. She was also the Northeast Conference Player of the Year for the third consecutive year after averaging 216.46 in 50 games and carrying a 21.21 overall frame average for nearly 1,100 frames. The three-time Junior Team USA member had a strike percentage of 55 percent and filled nearly 90 percent of all frames.
Vizenfeld earned an NTCA honor for the first time and also earned a First Team All-NEC award, as the regular season ended after holding a traditional average of 208.36 this season and a frame average of 20.97.
The duo will lead FDU on its quest for the NCAA National Championship in Canton, Mich. this week.
