FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's tennis team remained undefeated in the Northeast Conference after sweeping Sacred Heart, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon. With the victory, the Knights improve to 4-5 (3-0 NEC) on the season, while the Pioneers fall to 4-6 (2-1 NEC) overall.
FDU was rarely challenged on the day, winning five of the six singles matches in straight sets after winning all three doubles matches to claim the doubles' point.

Anna Rapoport (Moscow, Russia/#1239 ), and the NEC Rookie of the Week, freshman
Nicole Chis (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park), teamed up at No. 1 doubles to defeat Gabi Kaldan and Nicole Rydozowski, 8-4.
Senior
Egzona Morina (Prishtina, Kosovo/American School of Kosovo) and freshman
Celine Maier (Nuremberg, Germany /Bertolt-Brecht-Schule Nuremberg) needed a tiebreaker to win at No. 2 over Katie DeRienzo and Lindsey Post, 8-7 (11-9). At No. 3, sophomore
Dina Guzairova (Sochi, Russia/Chelyabinsk #8 ) and junior
Manuela Leme (Varginha, Brazil/E.E. Antania Alves Cruz) dominated Paige Olson and Haley Dubits, 8-1.
In singles, Rapoport had no problem at No. 1, as she defeated Kaldan, 6-1, 6-2. Morina was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over DeRienzo at No. 2, while Chis moved up to No. 3 and defeated Rydozowski in three sets, 2-6, 7-5, 10-8.
Maier won 6-0, 6-3 over Post at No.4, and Guzairova needed a first-set tie breaker before shutting out Olson at No. 5 to win 7-6 (4), 6-0. Leme completed the sweep with a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Alyssa Migliorine at No. 6.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, March 30 when they travel to Hamden, Conn. to take on Quinnipiac in an NEC match slated for 12 p.m.
