Jonathan Buchman announced the Fairleigh Dickinson women's tennis team's 2013 slate on Thursday.
The Knights, fresh off a 16-8 season, are bringing back half of their starting lineup including 2012 NEC Player of the Year
Anna Rapoport (Moscow, Russia/#1239 ). The nonconference schedule includes teams from America East, Patriot League, Big East, MAAC, Ivy League and the Atlantic-10, highlighted by NCAA Tournament participants Army and Fairfield.
FDU's spring will get underway on Feb. 9 at Binghamton followed by a trip to Manasquan to square off with the Big East's Rutgers on Feb. 13. The Knights round out the opening month with matches in West Point, N.Y. against Patriot League Champion Army and UMass on the Feb. 16 and 17, respectively.
On March 2, FDU is scheduled to take on Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. in the first of two scheduled matches against Ivy League opponents this spring.
Following five road matches, the Knights return to the FDU Tennis Center for a two-match homestand. The first is a showdown with reigning MAAC Champion Fairfield on March 19, and the second is the following day against Fordham. Both matches will begin at 3 p.m.
The Knights are back on the road for a March 23 match against Harvard in Cambridge, Mass.
The final three matches in March will complete FDU's conference schedule beginning with a home tilt against Saint Francis University at 2 p.m. The Knights will then head to Connecticut to take on NEC rival Sacred Heart on March 27 and 2012 NEC runner-up Quinnipiac on March 30.
April will begin with FDU welcoming Saint Peter's to the FDU Tennis Center on April 9 at 3 p.m. Two days later on April 11 at 3 p.m., the Knights will host St. John's out of the Big East.
FDU's final match of the regular season against Division II Concordia in Bronxville, N.Y. is set for April 16.
The following weekend, the Knights will look to defend their title at the NEC Championships scheduled for April 19-21 in West Windsor, N.J.
