M. Tennis Reveals 2013 Spring Schedule

Schedule

TEANECK, N.J. -- Following a historic season where the Fairleigh Dickinson men's and women's tennis teams won Northeast Conference titles to earn berths to the NCAA Tournament, first-year Head Coach Jonathan Buchman released the 2013 spring schedule for both teams on Thursday.

Coming off a 15-9 season and an NEC record 11th tennis crown, the men's team will kick off the season in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. with a nonconference match against the Atlantic 10 Conference's Fordham on Feb. 8 before jumping right into conference play on Feb. 15 against Bryant in East Hartford, Conn.

The Knights, welcoming back reigning NEC Rookie and Player of the Year Arvis Berzins (Adazi, Latvia/Riga Language School), will then play two more road matches at Princeton out of the Ivy League on Feb. 23 and follow up the next day at Saint Peter's in Jersey City, N.J.

FDU's March schedule begins with the Yale Round Robin on March 2-3 in New Haven, Conn. when the team will go toe-to-toe with Yale, Marist and Stony Brook.

On March 24, the Knights will make their home debut at the FDU Tennis Center when they host NEC opponent Saint Francis University at 10 a.m. The Burgundy and Blue went a perfect 4-0 at home last season.

NEC action continues as FDU travels to Connecticut for a March 27 showdown at Sacred Heart and another on March 30 at Quinnipiac. The Knights return to the FDU Tennis Center to take on local rival NJIT on April 6 at 11 a.m. and will then host 2012 NEC runner-up Monmouth on April 10 at 3 p.m.

The regular season will conclude with the Knights traveling to Bronxville, N.Y. to take on Division II power Concordia on April 16.

This year's NEC Championships in West Windsor, N.J. are scheduled for April 19-21.
