Men's Academic All-District Team  /  Women's Academic All-District Team

Fairleigh Dickinson tennis seniors Marco Jemersic (Zagreb, Croatia/X Gimnazija Ivan Supek) and Elmine Botes (Heidelberg Gauteng, Rep. of South Africa/Hoer Volkskool and British International Distance College) earned Capital One Academic All-District recognition for excelling on the court and in the classroom throughout their time for the Burgundy and Blue.

Jemersic, a First Team All-Northeast Conference doubles player, helped FDU's men's team win the NEC and claim a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008. In the tournament against No. 2 Virginia, Jemersic and doubles partner Dominic Hemy (Suffolk, England/Ipswich School) won four games in a match that went unfinished. The Croatia native finished his career with 41 doubles wins.

A First Team All-NEC singles and doubles honoree, Botes won 16 doubles and 16 singles matches during the 2011-12 campaign. Botes and the Knights won their first NEC crown since 1988, and went on to play in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. After playing at Indiana State for her freshman season, Botes transferred to FDU and compiled 78 singles wins and 73 doubles wins between the two schools.

Both Jemersic and Botes were honored in District Two, which is comprised of athletes from Washington, D.C., Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

The All-District honorees are automatically eligible to be chosen for Academic All-American awards, which are scheduled to be announced later this month.
