M. Tennis Preps for Rescheduled Match Against Hofstra

TEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson men's tennis team will play host to Hofstra on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the FDU Tennis Center at 3 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for Oct. 3 but was postponed due to rain.

The 2012 Northeast Conference champion Knights will be playing their first dual match of the season and will be making their 2012-13 home debut. So far this fall, FDU has taken part in the three tournaments: Princeton Invitational, USTA Invitational and Columbia Classic. In their most recent action at the Columbia Classic, seniors Yuri Gricheno (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Amorim) and Peter Skvarka (Banska Bystrica, Slovakia/Gymnazium J.G. Tajovskeho) finished as the runner-up in Flight B doubles.

The Pride (1-0) has one win under its belt so far this season, beating Siena on the road in Loudonville, N.Y. by a 4-3 score on Sept. 30. Prior to playing Siena, the Pride competed in the St. Joseph's University Tournament in Philadelphia, Pa. and most recently took part in the Quinnipiac University Tournament.

Last season, FDU defeated Hofstra, 5-2, in Hempstead, N.Y. thanks to wins in four singles matches to go with the doubles point.

Following Wednesday's match, FDU returns to tournament play with the ITA Regional Championships Oct. 18-23 in New Haven, Conn. to finish up the fall portion of its schedule.
