TEANECK, N.J. -- The final fall action for the Fairleigh Dickinson women's tennis team will come at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by the U.S. Military Academy at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center in West Point, N.Y. beginning Friday, Oct. 19, at 8 a.m. and running through Tuesday, Oct. 23.
In the qualifying singles draw on Friday, FDU will put senior
Egzona Morina (Prishtina, Kosovo/American School of Kosovo) and sophomore
Dina Guzairova (Sochi, Russia/Chelyabinsk #8 ) into action with a chance to qualify for the main draw on Saturday.
In doubles, Morina will team up with freshman
Celine Maier (Nuremberg, Germany /Bertolt-Brecht-Schule Nuremberg) to square off with Princeton's Katherine Flanigan and Emily Hahn in the round of 64. Another of FDU's doubles duos comprised of Guzairova and senior
Anna Rapoport (Moscow, Russia/#1239 ) will compete against Harvard's Amy He and Hannah Morrill on Friday.
The Knights have had a positive fall that includes a 2-0 mark in duals and NEC recognition for Morina (Player of the Month) and freshman
Nicole Chis (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park) (Rookie of the Month).
Following the tournament, the Knights will not compete again until heading to Binghamton for a dual match on Feb. 9.
