TEANECK, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson women's tennis team will play its final dual match of the fall season on Tuesday, Oct. 16, versus Seton Hall at 2 p.m. at the Seton Hall Tennis Courts in South Orange, N.J.
The Knights (1-0, 1-0 NEC) have had a successful fall season to date with a 7-0 win over Monmouth and three individual tournaments.
Their last time competing was the USTA Invitational in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Oct. 6-8. It was a big weekend for the Knights as junior
Manuela Leme (Varginha, Brazil/E.E. Antania Alves Cruz) and freshman
Nicole Chis (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park) won the fourth flight of doubles, while Chis won the Flight I singles championship and fellow freshman
Celine Maier (Nuremberg, Germany /Bertolt-Brecht-Schule Nuremberg) won Flight H.
Last October, the Knights took down the Pirates, 4-3. FDU swept the doubles matches to take the doubles point then followed up with wins at No. 1, 2 and 3 singles.
Seton Hall has played three tournaments so far this fall with action at the Quinnipiac and Navy Tournaments and the USTA Invitational.
This weekend, FDU will compete in the ITA Regional Championships in West Point, N.Y. beginning Friday, Oct. 19, and running through Tuesday, Oct. 23.
