Fairleigh Dickinson University Tennis Head Coach Ira Miller has announced the hiring of Mark Klysner as assistant men's and women's tennis coach for the 2009-2010 season.
Klysner arrives at FDU after one season as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. Prior to coaching at APSU, Klysner was the head men's and women's tennis coach at Green River Community College in Auburn, Washington for three seasons. His men's team went undefeated for three years and won three conference championships.
From 2000-2008, Klysner was the assistant tennis pro at Bally's Total Fitness in Federal Way, Washington. He also was the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at the University of South Carolina at Aiken for one season in 1999-2000. Klysner has worked in many country clubs, tennis clubs, and has coached in the Canadian National Junior Program in Manitoba. He is currently the personal coach of WTA player Clelia Del Tour from France.
A former standout at the University of South Carolina at Aiken, Klysner played number one singles and number one doubles and was named team MVP his senior year. He was nationally ranked in both singles and doubles. After graduating, Klysner turned professional and won two tournaments on the Canadian circuit. He also served as a member of the Manitoba Team at the 1993 Canada Games.
