Head Coach Sandy Gordon Leaves Fairleigh Dickinson

The contract of Fairleigh Dickinson University's women's basketball head coach, Sandy Gordon, will not be renewed at the end of the 2006-07 season. Gordon was the fifth coach in the 24-year history of the Knights' Division I basketball program.

Fairleigh Dickinson finished the 2006-07 season with an 11-18 overall record, including an 8-10 mark in Northeast Conference play. The Knights fell in the NEC Tournament quarterfinals, 69-55, at Robert Morris to end the season.

Gordon coached the Knights for eight seasons, amassing a record of 79-144 with the program. Under her tenure, FDU reached the NEC tournament six times in eight seasons and placed four freshman on the All-Rookie Team in three years, while the team earned the Women's Basketball Coaches Association "Class Act" Academic Top-25 three times.
