FDU Men's Basketball and Tom Green Part Ways After 26 Years

Tom Green will not be with the Fairleigh Dickinson University men's basketball team next season, announced Director of Athletics David Langford on Thursday, June 4.

After 26 years, Green leaves as the all-time leader in wins at Fairleigh Dickinson (407-351) as well as in Northeast Conference history (263-189). Green guided the Knights to 17 winning seasons, four NCAA Tournament berths and two NIT appearances while leading the program to five Regular Season Championships and four NEC Tournament Championships.

The most tenured coach in the state of New Jersey, he leaves with seven 20+ wins under his belt. FDU collected two ECAC Metro Championships before appearing in nine NEC Championship games and reaching the NEC Tournament 17 out of the 20 years in which Fairleigh Dickinson has been a member.

“We are so grateful to Coach Green for all that he has been able to do in his time at Fairleigh Dickinson,” said Langford. “He has given a great deal to this University and department and we look forward to building on the legacy that he founded.”
