The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams had strong performances on the first day of the Penn Relays.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Claudine Williams, Lordess Shabazz, Jessica Greenaway and Nickelle Smith ran a season-best of 48.70.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Shabazz, Christine Taylor, Greenaway and Hawa Massaquoi ran the event in 3:59.83.
Dwanya Freeland broke the hammer throw school record, previously held by teammate Taryn O'Connor, with a throw of 44.75 meters.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team ran the event in 3:24.13 and the men's spring medley team finished in 3:29.35.
Nik Berisha (Bronx, NY/Mount St. Michael) threw the shot put 14.49m and Zach Ahmed had a mark of 14.07m in the same event.
