The Fairleigh Dickinson University indoor track and field teams competed at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational this weekend.
The women's distance medley relay team of Megan Patterson, Lordess Shabazz, Christine Taylor and Lena Kraus, placed 18th with a time of 12:38.09.
In the 800-meter, Patterson ran a time of 2:19.46. The 4x400-meter relay team finished the event in 4:01.38.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team ran in 3:23.99. The men's distance medley relay team of Nico Stabile (Totowa, NJ/Passaic Valley), Ahmed Amarouch, Kimutai Bett (Litein, Kenya/Chebisaas Boys) and Weymour Johnson (Queens, NY/Springfield Gardens) placed 16th (10:31.59).
Taryn O'Connor placed 34th in the shot put event with a mark of 12.53 meters. On the men's side, Zacharia Ahmed (Hightstown, NJ/Hightstown) placed 25th in the shot put competition in the shot put competition with a mark of 14.83m, while Nik Berisha threw 13.42m to place 33rd. On Saturday, Berisha broke the school record in the weight throw with a 15.98 meters. It was previously held by Lou Gordon with a mark of 48.5 and Berisha threw 52.4 to shatter the record.
Lordess Shabazz ran the 200-meter event in a time of 26.52 to place second in her section in the preliminaries. Raldaine McDonald (Englewood, NJ/Dwight Morrow) ran the 60-meter dash in 7.11 to place 16th.
