The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's basketball team defeated Molloy College, 80-61, in exhibition play on Saturday night at Stratis Arena.
There were three Knights in double-digits, with Sean Baptiste (North Brunswick, NJ/St. Josephs of Metuchen)'s 21 points leading the way. Kamil Svrdlik (Prerov, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Zlin) and Alvin Mofunanya each added 12 points. Baptiste and Anaclet Mulumba (Montreal, Canada/Vanier College) led the squad on the boards with eight rebounds apiece. Mike Scott (Philadelphia, PA/Texas Christian) recorded nine points, six rebounds and six assists. DeJuan Pursley (Leonia, NJ/Leonia) notched three blocks and Baptiste grabbed five steals.
Carl Palmer led Molloy with 18 points, while Harley Fuller added 13, Edward Freeman recorded 12 and Brian Hutchinson rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11.
Fairleigh Dickinson held a slight edge on the boards, 49-47, and shot 48 percent from the floor.
FDU will open its regular season on Friday, November 13 at Villanova.
