Reinold Leads Knights to 3-1 Win vs. St. Francis NY

The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's soccer team recorded a 3-1 win against St. Francis NY in Brooklyn, NY on Monday evening. The Knights improve to 8-8-1 on the season, including a 5-3-1 mark in Northeast Conference action.

Freshman Dominic Reinold (Wesseling, Germany/Gesamtschule Rodenkirchen) scored all three goals for the Knights to lead the squad to an important conference win. Reinold started the scoring early, taking a loose ball and putting it into the back of the net in the 4th minute of the game.

The Knights held the 1-0 advantage through the first half. In the 78th minute, Reinold again fired one in, taking a rebound in the middle of the box and blasting it into the left corner.

One minute later, the Terriers scored to make it a 2-1 game, but Fernando Huthmacher found Reinold in the 83rd minute for an insurance goal, making the final 3-1.

The Knights were out-shot, 9-8, but held a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Majdi Zaineh (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) made one save in goal for the Knights to earn the win.

"The guys placed great tonight and Dominic finished his chances clinically," said Head Coach Seth Roland. "We earned an important win and valuable three points."

The Knights wrap up the regular season in Fairfield, CT on Friday, Nov. 6 at Sacred Heart.

The Northeast Conference Tournament, which features the top four teams based on winning percentage, will be held at the home of the highest seed on Nov. 13 and 14.
