Elmine Botes Collects NEC Player of the Week Honors

Fairleigh Dickinson University standout women's tennis player Elmine Botes (Heidelberg Gauteng, Rep. of South Africa/Hoer Volkskool and British International Distance College) was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.

Botes advanced further than any other Northeast Conference representative contesting the ITA Regional Championship at Yale University.  The two-time NEC Women's Tennis Player of the Week made her way into the Round of 32 where Yale's Stephanie Kent, the No. 12 seed, denied her entry to the quarterfinal.

Seeded 17th, Botes received a bye in the Round of 128 and proceeded to defeat Binghamton's Yulia Smirnova in straight sets (6-4, 6-2).
