The Fairleigh Dickinson University women's golf team is in the lead after the first day of the Knights Golf Invitational, held on the par-72, 5,901-yard course at NJ National in Basking Ridge, NJ .
The Knights have a team score of 322 to lead the eight-team field. Sacred Heart is currently in second (338), Rutgers is in third (340), Robert Morris is in fourth (353) and Hofstra rounds out the top five after the first round with a team score of 363. Sitting in sixth, seventh and eighth are Saint Francis PA (370), Monmouth (372) and Wagner (402), respectively.
Lisa Warrilow (Gnosall, Stafford, UK/) is in the lead, carding a 77 to sit in first overall. Michele Holzwarth (/) and Eva Mayr (Schwendi, Germany, /) are each tied for second after firing rounds of 78. Jessica Benoit (Lee, NH/) is tied for 17th after a round of 89 and Lauren Chapman (Haddam, CT/) turned in a 94.
The Knights finish hosting the event on Tuesday, with competition beginning at 9:00 a.m.
